5:3 So now, residents of Jerusalem, ¹ 

people ²  of Judah,

you decide between me and my vineyard!

45:22 Turn to me so you can be delivered, ³ 

all you who live in the earth’s remote regions!

For I am God, and I have no peer.

[5:3]  ² tn Heb “men,” but in a generic sense.

[45:22]  ³ tn The Niphal imperative with prefixed vav (ו) indicates purpose after the preceding imperative. The Niphal probably has a tolerative sense, “allow yourselves to be delivered, accept help.”

[47:5]  ⁴ tn Heb “darkness,” which may indicate a place of hiding where a fugitive would seek shelter and protection.
